Station, Monday: St. Mary Major.😇️

Holy Mass Introit. Ps. 17, 7. He heard my voice from His holy temple, alleluia: and my cry before Him came into His ears, alleluia, alleluia. Ps. 17, 2-3. I will love Thee, O Lord, my strength: the Lord is my firmament, and my refuge and my deliverer.

Today the Traditional Catholic Church celebrates the Holy Mass of, Rogation Monday. About the year 469, Saint Mamertus, Bishop of Vienne, in France, introduced processions and the public recitation of Litanies, after the calamities that had afflicted that country. In the time of Leo III who died in 816, these so called "Rogations" came to be observed in Rome and were given the name of "Lesser Litanies" to distinguish them from the "Greater Litanies" which had been previously established in the Holy City by Saint Gregory the Great about the year 598, for April 25, Feast of Saint Mark. These "Rogations Days" are earnest prayers to ward off calamities and obtain God's blessings upon the crops.
