Today the Traditional Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of, Saint Robert Bellarmine, Bishop, Confessor. He was born at Montepulciano, Italy on October 4th 1542. He joined the Society of Jesus, and was later made Cardinal and Archbishop of Capua. He was famous throughout Europe as a theologian and as a strenuous defender of the Catholic Faith. His numerous writings include works of devotion and instruction, as well as other controversies. During Saint Aloysius' last years, Saint Robert was his spiritual director. He was beatified in the year 1923, canonized and declared a Doctor of the Catholic Church in the year 1931. He is the patron of catechetical instruction, and members of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine may gain a plenary indulgence on his feast day under the usual conditions. Saint Robert faithfully pasted away in the year 1621.
