Saints Day
"Traditional Catholic Church"
Today the Traditional Catholic Church also celebrates the Feast of, Saint Barnabas, Apostle. He was originally known as Joseph, a rich levite, was a native of Cyprus. According to the Acts of the Apostles, he 'having land sold it, and brought the price, and laid it at the feet of the apostles." In company with Saint Paul they journeyed to the cities of Asia Minor and the people were amazed at their preaching. Saint Paul constantly gives him the title of apostle, which has therefore been ascribed to him in the Liturgy. Persecuted by the Jews he was stoned to death in the island of Cyprus. His name is mentioned in the Canon of the Mass immediately after that of Saint Matthias, the companion of Saint Paul in the evangelization of the pagans in Cyprus. After having conquered many souls for Jesus Christ, Cyprus during Nero's reign with the Gospel of Saint Matthew, written by his own hand, on his chest. Amazing what these Holy people did for Christ!
