Saturday, 06/28/2025 - All Day
Saints Day
"Traditional Catholic Church"
Today the Traditional Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of, Saint Irenaeus, Bishop, Martyr. He was born at Smyrna in Asia Minor, was also an instructor of the Martyred Saint Polycarp, Bishop of that city, and himself was a favorite disciple of Saint John the Evangelist. He later became Bishop of Lyons in Gaul, where with many other Catholic's, he was put to death for the Catholic Faith in the year 202. In his writings, many of which are still extant, Saint Irenaeus bears eloquent testimony to the primary truths in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter's See. His words are memorable: "It is necessary that the whole Church, that is to say, all the faithful scattered throughout the world, be in agreement with this Holy Church by reason of her primacy for the Apostolic tradition was ever preserved in her."
