"Traditional Catholic Church"

Today the Traditional Catholic Church also celebrates the Feast of, Saint Lawrence, Martyr. In the year 257 Pope Sixtus II, ordained Saint Lawrence to the diaconate. Though Saint Lawrence was still young, the same Pope appointed him as one of the seven deacons of the Roman Catholic Church. Summoned by the Prefect of Roman to surrender the treasury of the Church, Saint Lawrence instead, distributed them among the poor. More about Saint Lawrence, after the feast of Saint Peter, and Saint Paul, this is the greatest festival in the Roman Liturgy. The terrible martyrdom endured by the famous archdeacon deeply impressed the generations that came immediately after him, for whom Saint Lawrence became at Rome that which Stephen had been at Jerusalem. In order to save from confiscation some property of the Catholic Church, that had been entrusted to Saint Lawrence, he sold it and gave the proceeds to the poor. As the enemies of the Church believed he had concealed the treasures and hoped to make him reveal their hiding place, he was then roasted alive on a gridiron. After the agonies of hours he suffered, he then expired with the prayers on his lips for the conversions of these heathens. According to Catholic tradition, Saint Lawrence was roasted to death on a red hot gridiron over a slow fire.
