Today the Traditional Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of, Saint Jerome, Priest, Confessor. He was born in Dalmatia in the year 329, He was sent to school in Rome. His youth was not free from faults. His desires for knowledge was excessive, and his learning of books was his passion. His studies was from the best masters, he visited foreign cities, and devoted himself to the pursuit of science. But Christ had a different calling for his life, and so Saint Jerome obeyed Christ's calling, he fled to Rome, into the wild Syrian desert. He then learned for four years, solitude, penance, and prayers of Divine Wisdom. This was his novitiate. The Pope then summoned him to Rome, and there put upon the now famous Hebrew scholar the task of revising the Latin Bible, which was to be his noblest work. Retiring to his beloved Bethlehem, this Holy eloquent hermit poured forth from his solitary cell for thirty years a steam of luminous writings upon the Catholic world. He faithfully pasted away in the true Catholic Church, in the year 420.
